Dr. Heater is one of the oldest and most reputable in the business today. Their heaters constantly outshine competitors. How? I can’t say exactly, but I imagine it’s due to their solid construction and incredible performance.
The Dr. Heater DR966 is an electric heater with an uncommon wattage of 3000/6000 watts. The uncommon wattage actually is what makes this heater great. It’s perfect for the common garage size of 500 square feet but has some extra power if yours is slightly larger (anything around 600 or 700 square feet).
Built in Thermostat. This allows you to easily control the temperature of the heater.
Mount Bracket included. Permanently fix it to the ceiling or wall, or simply use this as a handle for easy portability.
Adjustable. This is why it’s great – even when it’s permanently fixed the heater itself is adjustable so you can direct airflow where you need it.
Auto-shut off. A must have safety and convenience feature for any electric heater. The unit will shut off when it gets to hot either in the room or the heater itself. This prolongs the lifespan of the garage heater and also is a major safety plus.
The price is actually incredibly good for everything you get with the DR966. It fluctuates a bit, so it’s best if you check the current price here.
This one is close to perfect, but nothing comes without a negative. It is a hard wired unit so it needs to go directly in the breaker. This will require some set-up on your end and the power cord doesn’t come with the unit. I wouldn’t worry though. For a heater this economical and powerful it’s a better price than almost all the other options even with the cable. Setting up an electric heater is also a simple task. I suggest you watch the video on setting up electric cieling garage heaters or read the how to guide on this website.
This garage heater is a little powerhouse for an affordable price. It has countless great user reviews which echo the countless features and good performance this unit offers. Heating a work shop or basement is very easy with the Dr. Heater DR966
